Feel free to add any you come across, just make sure they aren't what you would usually find on a list of survival items.

Snow shoes :) even if you had to break the back off of wooden chairs (the ones that resemble the design of snow shoes) like in the Day After Tomorrow. Or even could use tennis rackets! Just tie them to your boots and you're all set.

I would probably just use my pocket knife, but i do have some sharpeners...

I recently picked up 2 dozen of the one led flashlights, a couple dozen rechargeable AA batteries, and a few of the solar chargers that will charge multiple batteries at a time....

I figure when the lights go out, i could even rent them out, and they would have to bring them back for a recharged battery....

I know, sounds stupid....maybe I'm running out of ideas for items to acquire....

You might want to add fine steel wool to your survival pack if you happen to have a surplus supply of batteries but not fire making tools. Beats rubbing sticks together :D

that tune is catchy :P

Fire pistons are neat - a reasonable seal between the shaft & the hole and you press down hard - compression fires up the tinder in the shaft. Chucktrick posted about them a while back and I want a couple. No rubbing, no extra bits to find, just load the tinder & shove.

I don't know if this would be considered unusual but certainly not really used today. An astrolabe. Now I just have to learn how to use it.
