My password id difficult to remember.
How do I simplify it to, for example, a coherent textual state.

Go to [User Control Panel] - on the right under the picture at the top
Click [Profile] - on the left
Click [Edit Account Settings]
Change your PW to what you want...

combine your nickname and birth date (how can you forget those)
or your children's nickname and birth dates

pick a name and a set of numbers that you can never ever forget
mix them up (first syllabel-date-last syllable, name-date-name, month (not starting with zero) name/syllable, date/year, last syllable)

Write down your passwords in a little black book.
Make about 6 common ones
rotate your passwords every other month.

You forgot, DON'T LOSE LITTLE BLACK BOOK!

You mean to say that on this site that does not ask for your address, credit card numbers and such that one would have to change their password that often? Just to come here and criticize other peoples belief system. Please if you may give those out there a reason for that.

Changing your password every month makes sense if you have access to important data like customers credit cards or military secrets, but is only of use if someone discovers your password but takes days and weeks to actually use it - RARE.

Otherwise, stick with your password as long as you are happy with it.
