Does anyone know of any communities that are off the grid and are self sustaining 100% green?

  ok, do not do that while I am drinking coffee....

I heard the entrance exam for heaven is a real killer though...
You need to put your heart and soul into it...ack

somebody stop me...I punning and I can't stop.

Ok Ok...back on topic. No one with a fully functioning self sustaining community will disclose that in a public forum. Make friends, personnaly prepare. Then maybe you will be invited.

Gulity on all accounts but one....actually according to the definition of murder I've done that to! Think I'll just stay and hang here out as long as I can.

I heard once that a comunity of this kind was created.. But the only problem is that they try to work it in a communist way, making everyone equal...
Nature is not made like that, so inevitably, someone wanted more then the other, and some didnt want to work as much as the other... so, it all broke apart.

In every group, there is leaders and follower, some that agrees and some that dont, and dont forget the bad one, and the one that everyone is picking on! This is just normal! You cant avoid it! If you remove one of the equation, someone else will take its place.

I should have added that to get THERE (ie. heaven) you need to start HERE (earth). So don't wait till you're finished HERE to see if you'll get THERE because when you get THERE, it may not be WHERE you think THERE is.

Click the link in the quote to find out more.

Nature?...or man is not made like that? Perhaps the secret to success is resetting the mindset altogether. Why is man like that and does he have to be? Maybe it is our general acceptance that man cannot help the way he is that keeps us from improving and growing.

Mother Earth News has several articles on communities that have done just that. Another good forum based in the NZ/Australia realm is selfsufficientish.com

Beware some communes. Many are lead by one megalomaniac conjugating a herd of sycophants with their own issues.

Intentional Communities
Quote:
Intentional Community is an inclusive term for ecovillages, cohousing, residential land trusts, communes, student co-ops, urban housing cooperatives, alternative communities, and other projects where people strive together with a common vision.

There are a bunch in the US that might fit into that category, but may not be solely focused on the 2012 date.

Even better check out http://gen.ecovillage.org/index.html

Here's a link to a list of 2012 communities, which are being formed all over the world. http://www.face2012.net/browse_groups.php

The obvious answer should be The Amish. And they do have a huge community in Holmes/Wayne Counties of Ohio. There is a percentage there that are menonites. They dress the same, but drive cars and have electricity. I even saw 99%r's out there. They used nothing at all besides..........electric fencing. Apparantly the economics, versatlity and ease of electric fencing has proven too much to even hard core Amish. Many of the farms though had nothing at all.

I respect those people. It takes real guts and faith to stick with horses when most of world around you is mechanized. It's like they have no cares at all when it comes to defense. Like they have no will to achieve power. No will to give up on people for supposed efficiency.

And they do not only sustain themselves. They thrive and multiply. They buy up homes all over those 2 counties and degrid them. They may work long hours but they sure do acquire what I consider Real Wealth. Big Families and Land.

I believe there is one in New mexico. Probably more than one, actually, but the guy posted on this forum already- maybe in communities-and after 2012, he said that they would check for survivors at _______ spot every full moon. Take a look and see if you can find him!

This site displays communities in North America on a map and with info - http://directory.ic.org/maps/

There is one that is starting a true self sustaining community but they are very against 2012, other conspiracies, fear, and survival - onecommunityranch.com
