I think this would be the best thing I've ever experienced if it means what I hope it means: destruction of the "old ways" (apocalypse hooray! hope I live!) and bringing in an era of "new ways"...old ways being what we have now: most people are poor, corruption is rampant, 95% of the world's wealth is in less than 1% of the populations hands, I live in a country of corporate fascism: where corporations run my govt, not the people, people are not treated as anything more than cattle by organizations and govt's, which they are dumb enough to allow themselves to be treated this way and continue to elect X or Y politicians without realizing that X and Y both work for corporations, NOT them.
The new way being a life of true freedom...living where I want in the mountains, roaming where I want, hunting where I want, fishing where I want, and not being forced to live side by side amongst MILLIONS of people in a city. Today you need a permit to go hunting or fishing, you can only do it in certain areas, at certain times, and it all costs $$ to go do. To buy land I'd need a boatload of cash, and then I'd still have to pay taxes every year, so I can't just go buy land today and live on it. Even if I did I'd still be unable to go roam where I want (it's mostly all owned and private property across the states) and I'd still need money for fishing and hunting licences and permits. Instead of that I'd be living in a small community or group in cabins, and each day is filled with farming, fishing, hunting, not the same old: wake up, drive to work, sit in cubicle for miniscule paycheck, go home eat dinner watch tv, stress about bills you never have enough money to pay all of.
Which would you prefer?

To me one sounds like a life of adventure, freedom, and challenges that will make life exciting.
The other is nothing more than a prison sentence without bars.

They are building a bunker city under the Int'l airport in Denver, there anyone will be under the oppressive heels of the masters of the old ways and be devoured when their masters need nourishment for their own immortality experiments..

No way, my life certainly isnt, work, eat sleep etc...
I want to live for my children and enjoy life, just as I do now.

Yes I do believe it is a good thing. My perspective is that we are at present in a time, Cosmically predetermined, of healing which is why things appear to be getting worse instead of better simply because there is a lot of resistence to the healing energy that is dominate right now. Cosmically speaking, if we know it or not, if we accept it or not, our insanity is being cured. In this we have no choice. What we can choose is to go with it or against it and with a little awareness the results of our choices will reveal to us how we are fairing. I suggest you go with it rather then worry about the end of the world. It is in fact the healing of our insanities that will perpetuate our existence beyond 2012.

Really? that is what you got from that statement? The only thing I have resentment for is the fake culture that has lead to many problems for other species due to our overpopulation and resource gluttony. The false economics of robbing peter to pay paul.
So, since I tend to think that since it is all a psycho-sell to the masses, I paraphrased a movie in jest. Things may be working well on a time table, but other things that have happened are just superfluous nonsense that needs to be flushed away.

if you have family that you love & children, I can not see how it would be a good thing at all, but then I've know people involved with murders who are bad (I'm not friends with them obviously) who have threatened myself or my family and I think that the world would be better without them.

But natural disasters or whatever comes does not discriminate against the good.
