On December 31, 2011 a man in China has died of H5N1. Wasn't this H5N1 created in the lab? Or did i misunderstand that scenario that developed just a few weeks ago regarding this? No matter i guess. Welcome to 2012 huh?

Yes, i may have slightly misunderstood the scenario i was thinking of. Still, i find it coincidental that this would occur so near to the time of this article. As well, just what strain of the H5N1 are we discussing here though?

One single individual has died of a disease that is hardly rare in a country that has notoriously poor health care, particularly when it comes to respiratory diseases.

I don't think I'll be getting all excited about this one. Let me know when the death toll is in the hundreds. Then, and only then, will I be concerned about this.
