35 stunning pics of the volcano and life around it. All but one taken in Iceland.
Some will be familiar but there should be quite a lot of new ones. Too many to post here so here's the link. Enjoy!

Ps I like nos 1, 2, 15 and 19 but it's hard to choose!

Those are some great pics! Get ready for some fabulous glows in the evening sky, especially if Katla erupts. I can remember reading about the Krakatoa eruption back in 1883 and the Tunguska fireball of 1908. It was said by some that a person could read newspaper print in a dark room at midnight with the curtains open.

Well...there is something profoundly eerie about number 10. It’s the look in the horse's eye that pulls on my heartstrings. As for color and composition, Number 2 is awesome. If we’re strictly talking the eruption itself, I’m blown away with the first picture.

All in all, I had a feeling of sadness after viewing all of them. It is what I expected to feel, but didn’t realize it would stay with me for so long. Kind of reminds me of when I looked at the ash on the shoulders of the firemen after 9/11 during all the news coverage. Ash is just so dull and eerie in and of itself, it just embodies the word “death” :( Seeing the crops covered in it and the animals and the houses in the midst of it all just makes me appreciate the sunshine that I felt on my face this morning. No one ever knows what tomorrow will bring.
