I know I've been absent a while, but I'll slow down and be more active here soon.

I wish to inform the wonderful people here that the September issue of Playboy article is 'in the can'. I will no longer be 'incognito'. It is the feature article for the issue. I can only hope it sheds a positive light, we'll just have to wait and see. I am confident they won't be implying we are 'hard core survivalists' or 'kooks'.

I want to thank Rob and the mods for their 'vote of confidence'. I hope I can represent you people in the 'light' you(we) are.

They didn't actually want any of the astrophysical or geophysical scenarios or speculations, but so be it. It was 'over their head' anyway.

I would expect a flood of new members this fall. Kooks and all.

That's awesome. I, too, hope they paint us in a positive light (unlike that Newsweek article last month). I gave permission for a couple of my private emails with the Playboy author to be used also, but not sure if they will make it into the issue. Congratulations on your contribution to our cause (getting the "positive" word out to the masses).

Supposedly Hef is very keen on the story. It is remarkable that a humble little forum like ours can end up being the source for a feature article in a global publication. It'll be interesting to see if the 2012 meme peaks just after the movie is released, or if it keeps getting bigger through to the end date...

I really don't give a crap what it says in play boy and if you do then really you are in the wrong place......

Will there be a "girls of the vault" pictorial to go with the article?

I would encourage everyone to not get their hopes up for a fair and unbiased article. Many of the doomsday/cult stories of late were ones that did not have a good outcome.

With that in mind, I'm hoping it's at least an 'OK' article...

Welcome back Space. Let's hope it is a good article. Playboy has a tendency to better reporting than many other magazines. Looking forward to the Sept. issue. This will be the first time I have read it before my hubby.

Y'all know what I think? There's an old saying in Hollywood.... any press is good press. So, even if they shine a less-than-flattering light on the 2012 topic, at least people will read about it. There are probably people still out there that have NO IDEA about what's coming around the bend. If only one person becomes enlightened and begins to prepare, as a result of reading the article, then I don't care about the other 20 thousand who think we're freaks.

hmm...I'll probably have to travel to the next town so no one I know sees me buying a Playboy magazine...lol

In all seriousness, I am eagerly waiting to see how the movement and its fine folks are represented. DH already thinks I'm a bit kooky and I'm sure when he sees me bringing home a Playboy mag he'll wonder if I've gone over the edge.

New magazines usually come out around here around the 20th; anyone know the release date of this one?
