Depends upon your definition of a "cult" ...

lol.....OK we all believe in something that's a little bit on the fringe...so regardless of our level of organization, the mainstream would unfortunately classify us as a cult. Another victim of stereotyping!

For my piece of mind, I will consider us....not as people who are stocking up bunkers, but as people who think things are going to change drastically around 2012. I want to stay away from "the end of the world will occur on 12-21-12"!

Maybe I can get more people to join the site that way!

I think "discussion group" sounds better than cult so will go with that. I'm not putting a specific date on this either but feel changes everywhere. The only definite ending on 12-21-12 is the mayan calendar... As for those who join us here in the forum, it might be tough to discuss anything with someone who doesn't believe in the topic so maybe more isn't really better...

Could it be possible that we are the first online doomsday cult?
Should we meet at Barns and Noble? What is our theology?
Would the members that distrust religion distrust our cult as well?
What is the name our cult goes by?
Do we wear robes and accost people in airports?
Should we get Ted Turner on our side he owns 2million acres in America surely we can find some place to put 5 or 600 people in there.

My friend at work that I talk about 2012 with a lot "jokingly" accuses me of being part of a cult... he says that if nothing happens in 2012 that I'm going to put on purple robes and "drink special kool-aid" to bring on the end of the world. I just laugh and tell him I'd be fine if nothing happened, but maybe a tad bit disapointed.

My secretary at work, (who is also a good friend), always comes into my office and says,
"Would you quit trying to save the world and get back to work!"

.  .....[sad, whining]....But...but...I like saving the world.

That's just too good. I get that one a lot too. It's usually said playfully but
As if saving the world isn't work, for one thing
and secondly, when did preaching apathy become the norm?
Being apathetic is understandable, but preaching it? heheh bizarre

What kind of world-saving work do you do Q?

My mother is skizophrenic (how do you spell that?) And I try to stay open minded on the fact that I could become too. So I tell myself that if I think I'm crazy thinking about all that, this means that I'm not skizophrenic. In her mind, everybody but her was wrong. So saying that it's everybody else who is wrong would only prove me that I'm crazy.

A sure thing is that I must not tell her about this story of 2012... this could cause her pill to become useless!!
