Another person on the thread made a similar observation, Ken, and what you've stated makes perfect sense. The supposed tears of grief and sorrow could well be displays of abject fear coming from those who realize that Kim Jong was just a big playful pussycat compared to what might be next up in the Korean Batting order.

The sorrow was fake. Considering what it takes for all humans in a group to hystericaly cry. Humans have to be close to something to crywhen its takenfrom them. I find it hard to believe that they were all close to him.

I read a story about a person sentenced to 20 years for just for sitting on a newspaper that had a picture of the 'Great Leader'.

Yes the news reports here yesterday were saying if they didn't show an outpouring of emotion in public for the death of their leader then they would be arrested. They HAD to cry!

Photo op. Like many of the items of footage allowed out of the country. But that doesn't make either of you wrong.

It's not that they might not feel emotion, it is the fact they are doing it for the TV. As I said in my second post - look at the scenes shown. It is staged. The shots are of the same location from many angles and yet in none of them do you see the TV cameras that had to be all around for that many shots. Ergo they WEREN'T all around and the camera(s) was/were being moved from place to place to get the footage.

Now look at the long shots - we still have the overlay of wailing but most of the crowd is just standing there. Then look at the wailing shots - 25 people (maybe) in frame doing the whole "wailing and gnashing of teeth" thing.

It's a photo op and anyone who didn't perform on cue would be insulting the late great Kim and would therefore be under threat.

It upset alot of people, Greeky. Hell, it upset ME and I was just a little snot at the time. But, according to some who fancy themselves to be in tune with the innerworkings of Dr. Sigmund, our sorrow over JFK was no more than a healthy dose of brainwashing administered by the Government, and maybe even by our own parents. I guess that goes for Lady Di, too.

I always wondered what my parents were up to when they kept swinging those damn medallions before my eyes. :mrgreen:
